Notes for JAMES CLARKE:
Arrived 12 April 1841 Melbourne per "Argyle" ex Liverpool with family.  Occupation: Farm labourer, surgeon's assistant, shepherd, miner, mining agent.  Buried: Creswick cemetery RC section Row 11 No 1306.  James went blind in his old age.  His daughter Rose devoted considerable time to his care.

Notes for HESTER BURNS:
It seems likely that Hester died about the time of Richards birth (c 1830).  It is possible that her younger sister Rose(tta) came to look after the children.  Rose bore James at least one child (Ann) in 1834 before they left for Australia in late 1840.
Canon Law would not permit marriage to a sister-in-law.  This may explain the 1843 marriage in far away Melbourne where they were "unknown".<> More about JAMES CLARKE and HESTER BURNS:

Notes for WILLIAM JOSEPH PASCOE:
Married Eunice Lillian Clarke 1939.  Malcolm and Lorraine were born several years later.  October 1948 for Malcolm and nearly 18 months later Lorraine.  (From Malcolm) Whilst trying to recall family stories about my father’s life I feel inadequate.  I do know that he was a boot maker by trade, he worked on the railways and also picked or processed tobacco at Gunbower, Victoria.  I was conceived in Gunbower and born in the Echuca Hospital.  Recollections of my father, he worked as a process worker at ICI, making Vinex and later when the company changed hands to Nylex, he continued to make the same product under a different name.  After he retired he loved to read Western’s and was a little reclusive.  His daughter Lorraine moved into the family home to help with caring for his wife.  After her passing he had the freedom to travel and stayed with the wife of his deceased army friend in Berrigan, New South Wales.  His own illness forced him to again live with his daughter until he passed.

13.  MALCOLM JOHN⁶ PASCOE (EUNICE LILLIAN⁵ CLARKE, CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH⁴, DAVID³, JAMES², WILLIAM¹) was born 7 October 1948 in Echuca, Victoria, Australia.  He married DOROTHY JOAN PAROISENE Abt. 1969 in Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  She was born 24 August 1948.

Notes for MALCOLM JOHN PASCOE:
Born in the Echuca hospital with parents living in Gunbower, Victoria.  Moved to Melbourne before the age of 18 months.  This was necessary because of a congenital bone condition (Osteogenesis Imperfecta) rarely known in rural Victoria.  Once in Melbourne the family moved several times - Coburg, Werribbee, again Coburg, Port Melbourne, Flemington, and Footscray.
He married whilst living in Footscray and again moved several times.  He was finally divorced when son Steven was around 3+ and shortly afterwood acquired the custody of the 2 children.
Much of the family holidays and long weekends were spent in Violet Town and Strathmerton.  In Violet Town the family spent all of the time at "Uncle Joe (Joseph Footter) & Aunty Laura's (Lavinia Evelyn (Laura) Pascoe)".  His parents and rellies would stay up playing cards after the children were put to sleep.
As he got older, yabbying in "Wilsons Dam" was a favourite past-time, and then later, rabbiting in the hills with cousin Kevin Charles Footer (son of Elizebeth Joan Footter & Unknown Byrne out of wedlock). These years were very fulfilling along with the stays at the Morris's dairy farm at Strathmerton.
He started an apprenticeship when he was 16 as an industrial engraver, later to diversify into chemical engraving. He also developed skills in woodwork, electronics and became known as a computer guru in the Buchan area that he lived.
He moved to Violet Town in 1993 after he gave up work and went on a disability allowance. This move came about when Kevin's then wife Patrcia Dunn?? passed and Kevin wanted to keep the home that he and Pat bought, so he rented from Kevin until a rekindled relationship between Kevin and his first girlfriend, Kevin then moved back in himself.  This was a time of change, where once Kevin and he were once seen as brothers, Kevin's new relationship (later marriage) put stresses between them that were still alive at the time of Kevin's death in 2003.
Education: Yooralla School for Crippled Children - to year 8, Engraving apprenticeship with O & H Fleishman - general and industrial engraving.
Work: Engraving, Chemical Engraving. Later a volunteer for community groups and Online Access Centre in Tasmania from April 2005 where he now lives.
